我目前的燈具是 Coralife 四呎的 150w HQI x2 + 96w PC x2
現在想要升級到250w 讓SPS能夠有效顯色..
問題是在
請問我可以直接升級現有這組燈具的 安定器和燈泡到250w的嗎
還是說 就算換了安定器和燈泡 整組燈具的電路板會承受不住這樣子的壓力嗎
怕買了新的安定器和燈泡之後 裝上去會把整組燈具的電路板燒了...
因為對這方面沒有概念 所以先謝謝了

安定器換掉之後, 腳座也得換掉, 並且燈管的長度不同喔
Coralife的燈具應該沒有所謂的"電路板", 安定器應該是裝在燈具裡, 直接換掉就好, 如果安定器的size放不進去, 可以將安定器外置.
Coralife 的 retrofit kit 好像沒有單獨出250W的, 如果你要DIY, 我會建議你買Ice Cap的retrofit kit. Ice Cap的安定器真的是比較好用而且沒那麼熱

目前安定器是外置的沒錯
只是 Ice Cap實在太貴 :S
我這組是Dual End light bulb所以最高到250w
Mine is not retrofit tho.. its a whole fixture...
So i guess it is possible to just upgrade the ballast and light bulbs right?
Because I asked a LFS guy who happened to be Taiwanese and he told me there might be a chance that the system may not be able to handle such high wattage ..

PS, 所謂腳座是指?... fixture stand? or light bulb end

腳座指的是 Lamp Holder, the ceramic ends sets that clamps the HQI DE bulbs together on either sides.
I don';t think you can fit the 250W bulb into the lamp holder for the 150W.
The retrofit kit that I was referring to is the DIY kit you can buy off the net, that comes with ballast and lamp holder only, no canopy.
I think MD sells retrofit kits, not too sure on that, but Champion lighting is a popular place to get retrofit kits. I would suggest you buy the bulbs first just to try see if they will fit onto your current lamp holder (Don';t try to turn on the ballast!) If the lamp holders fits, then all you need to get is the ballast.
Don';t believe everything LFS told you.........
You should also get second opinion on the other boards such as RC or RDO.

Here is a page that people has raised the question if 150W DE can be changed to 250W DE without replacing the lamp holder. The answer is NO.
